Benjamin Ashley Sherrill, 39, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his residence.

Benjamin was born on May 28, 1981, in Union City, TN, to James Leon Sherrill and the late LeeAnn Provow Shirley. He was a salesman and a peer counselor, who helped many people. Benjamin was a Christian, who loved God, his family and friends. He loved drag racing, riding four wheelers and racing dirt bikes.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Dean officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Tiptonville Chapel.

Survivors include his father, Leon Sherrill of Tiptonville, TN; his fiancé, Julie Stewart of Newbern, TN; two sisters, Brooke Shirley of Ridgely, TN and Mary Elizabeth Dean of Monroe, LA; one uncle, Jerry Sherrill of Union City, TN; and six aunts, Marla Cilley, Margie Gooch, Finetta McClain, Patricia Barnes, Susan McDonald and Deena Johnson.

In addition to his mother, Benjamin was preceded in death by a sister, Chearaton "Cheryl" Butts; his grandparents, Peggy Provow, Lillie Sherrill Maddox and Howard Sherrill; three uncles, Donald Sherrill, Jimmy Sherrill and Dale Sherrill; and one aunt, Gail Sherrill.

Pallbearers will be Clifford Gooch, Jerry Sherrill, II, Donald Sherrill, Brad Hopper, Josh Patterson and Randy Sherrill. Honorary pallbearers will be Cynthia Smith, Vicky Smith and Donna Sherrill.
