Barry Neal Stanley, age 71, of Finley, Tennessee, passed away on May 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and quiet strength that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Barry was a man of deep character — friendly, compassionate, and generous to his core. Those who knew him best remember a man who was dependable in the truest sense, always showing up when it mattered, offering an encouraging word, and living by the belief that guided so many through hard times. And somehow, when Barry said it, you believed him. For 32 years, Barry served the community with pride and dedication as a member of the Dyersburg Fire Department, where he served as Lieutenant, and Dyersburg EMS. His commitment to protecting and caring for others was not just a career — it was a reflection of who he was as a man. Outside of work, Barry found his greatest joy close to home and family. He took pride in maintaining his yard and pasture, and there was nothing quite like watching him in his element outdoors. He was a devoted grandfather who rarely missed a grandchild’s sporting event, cheering them on with the same steady love he gave to everything he did. He also cherished the adventures that travel brought, creating memories with the people he loved most. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters and a long-term active member of Finley Baptist Church.
Barry is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Pam Stanley; his daughters, Misty Stanley Kennedy (Kevin) and Stephanie Stanley Jones (Trenn); and his cherished grandchildren, Cade, Madelyn, and Finley Kennedy, and Savannah Jones, Jaxon and Lucas Perdue. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda, his nephew Jeff, and his niece Jackie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonathan Clem Stanley and Inez Stanley, and his brothers, Milton, Earl, Frank, Buford, Joe, Wilson, and Marvin Stanley.
