Barry Gene Hughes, 78, of Newbern, TN, passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at his residence.

Barry was born on November 27, 1942, in St. Louis, MO, to the late Thomas Eugene Hughes and the late Muriel Louise Sanders Hughes. He was a retired quality manager with Bennett's Tool & Die and was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. Barry served his country with honor in the United States Army and was a Mason.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Zion Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Survivors include his two sons, Barry Scott Hughes and wife, Cindy, of Obion, TN and Steven Dwayne Hughes of Jackson, TN; and five grandchildren, Brittany Hughes, Clay Hughes, Tyler Hughes, Alexander Hughes and Brennan Hughes.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers.
