Barbara Osborne Wood, 86, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Dyersburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
She was born on January 4, 1932, in Tiptonville, TN, to the late Newt Osborne and the late Mildred Cartwright Osborne. Mrs. Barbara was a retired purchasing specialist with the Climate Control Division for Ford Motor Company in Plymouth, MI. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgely and loved arts & crafts and painting.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Ridgely with the Rev. John Coleman and the Rev. Mickey Hanks officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Donna Peper (Steve) of Garden City, MI, Ann Beatty (Ken) of Newport News, VA and Laurie Reaves (Steve) of Dyersburg; a sister, Sylvia Garmon (Frank) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and a grandson, Stephen Jacob Reaves of Dyersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Wood; a sister, Martha Sue Lovings; and a brother, Bubba Osborne.
Pallbearers will be Steve Peper, Ken Beatty, Steve Reaves, Stephen Jacob Reaves, Trent Patterson and Kent Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Leake, Wilks Moore, Mack Forrester and Charles Dill.
The family requests that memorials be directed to First Baptist Church in Ridgely.
