Barbara Richards, age 60, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Born on May 5, 1965, in Ft. Rucker, AL, she was the beloved daughter of Paul Slater, Sr. and Brenda Kirkley Garrison. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a 1983 graduate of Dyer County High School. Her career included 19 years as a Team Leader at Tractor Supply and 19 years as an employee at Homestead.

Barbara was a dedicated member of the Evansville Baptist Church, served as the director of the Dyer Baptist Association women's ministry and was a member of the committee for the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. She also contributed to her community by cooking for the lunch encounter on Wednesdays at Dyersburg State Community College and serving as a scorekeeper for the church league softball.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2025 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2025 and from 10-11 am. Monday, May 26, 2025 all at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, Wade Richards of Dyersburg, TN; two sons, Michael Richards and wife, Lauran, and Benjamin Richards, all of Dyersburg, TN; her mother, Brenda Garrison of Trimble, TN; her father and step-mother, Paul and Glenda Slater of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Paul Slater, Jr. and wife, Terri, of Newbern, TN and Sean Slater of Dyersburg, TN; three sisters, Debbie Green and husband, Tony, and Peggy Bentley, all of Dyersburg, TN and Jennifer Madrey of Union City, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her step-father, James Garrison; her brother-in-law, Scott Madrey; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Dora Richards.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Slater, Bradley Hudson, Justin Chandler, Jeremy McCann, Brandon Chandler and Matt Chandler. Tony Green will be serving as a honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Evansville Baptist Church, 2217 A Street, Dyersburg, TN 38024 or to the Dyer Baptist Association Womens Ministry, 512 West Parkview Street, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
