Aubrey Gene Leake, age 75, of Dyersburg, TN passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at West TN Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on August 15, 1946 in Trenton, TN to the late Aubrey & Frances Allene Taylor Leake. Aubrey enjoyed camping, bowling and riding motorcycles; but what brought him the most joy was playing in the dirt. He was the retired owner and operator for Leake Excavating where he moved dirt and rock for many people in and around the Dyer County area for over 24 years. Aubrey truly enjoyed anything involving dirt work. He was a member of the NRA and attend The Church of Jesus Christ.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 5-8 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ at 120 Hamer Rd, Dyersburg, TN. Burial will follow in Bell Vernon Cemetery in Friendship, TN.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Pauline Leake of Dyersburg, TN; two sons, Stephen Leake and Scotty Leake both of Dyersburg, TN; one brother, Steve R. Smith of Dyersburg, TN; one sister, Charlotte Bennett of Dyersburg, TN and his brother and sister in laws, Lindsey Deaton (Jackie), Janis Meadows and Catherine Jones (Eddie).

In addition to his parents, Aubrey was preceded in death by his brother, James L. Smith and his sister, Doris Vonell Wells.

Honoring Aubrey as pallbearers will be Chris Jeter, Lynn Bizzle, Jim Cook, George Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Jones and Jonathan Jones.
