Dr. Aubrey Daniel Hay, age 87 of Dyersburg, TN passed away on Thursday July 20, 2023 at West TN Healthcare - Dyersburg Hospital.

Dr. Hay was born on April 4, 1936 in Finley, TN to the late Connie & Alene Smothers Hay. He was a graduate of Carson-Newman University, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Drew Seminary. Dr. Hay pastored at many churches over his career, but most of his pastoral years were spent at First Baptist Church in Erwin, TN, Oakwood Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN and Good Shepard Baptist Church in Amherst, OH. He was also the Director of Church & Minister Relations for the TN Baptist Convention for many years. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Dyersburg, TN and attended Newbern First Baptist Church.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Mr. Mike McCullough. A private family burial will be held at a later date a Providence Church Cemetery near Crockett Mills, TN.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Nancy Canada Hay of Dyersburg, TN; one daughter, Deborah Ford (David) of Marietta, GA; two grandchildren, Jared Ford and Austin Ford; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that loved and adored their "Uncle Aubrey".

In addition to his parents, Dr. Hay was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Ann Hay; three brothers, Parker Lee Hay, David Joe Hay and Ronnie Lynn Hay; and two sisters, Doris Marie Hay Kesler and Bobbie Jean Hay McCrary.
