Aubrey "Butch" Convell Wood, Jr., 76, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on March 9, 1943, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Aubrey Convell Wood, Sr. and the late Mary Agnes Stafford Wood. Butch was retired from the Water Department for the City of Ridgely, where he worked for 30 years. He was the Assistant Fire Chief, member of the Rescue Squad, was the Reelfoot Lake Planning Commissioner and was a licensed advanced EMT. Butch was the owner of Woods Hardware & Repair and held offices with Woodmen of the World. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgely and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Clayton Mahan officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 12-2 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Turnbo Wood of Ridgely, TN; a son, Aubrey "Trey" C. Wood III of Ridgely, TN; two daughters, Kelley Massey of Dyersburg, TN and Wendy Kluk (Steven) of North Carolina; a sister, Janiece Wood Carpenter (John) of Gleason, TN; five grandchildren, Aubrey "Ace" C. Wood, IV, Braden Massey, Tyler Kluk, Ryan Kluk and Leeann Kluk; and two great-grandchildren, Alica Kluk and Aisley Kluk.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Wood Parker.

Pallbearers will be Trey Wood, Charles Stewart, Jackie Howell, Chris Burrus, Tim McCree and Bryan Jowers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ridgely Fire Department and members of the Lake County Rescue Squad.
