Ms. Asilee (Kitty) Mallard, age 99, died at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Dyersburg Funeral Home, 420 U.S. 51, Dyersburg, Tennessee. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery.
Born in Roellen, Tennessee, she lived in Flint and Fenton, Michigan, and Granite City, Illinois before moving to Huntsville, Alabama in 2002. Survivors include her sister, Ms. Bessie Inez (Mallard) Burnett, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Ms. Mallard was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John Mallard, Ms. Lilly (Ragan) Mallard, and 13 brothers and sisters; Mr. Thomas Mallard, Mr. Eulrus Mallard, (Unnamed Infant) Mallard, Ms. Eulean (Mallard) Harrell, Mr. Roy Mallard, Mr. Allen (Jake) Mallard, Mr. Martin Mallard, Mr. John (Massie) Mallard, Ms. Allie (Mallard) Obarr, Mr. JL Mallard, Mr. CS Mallard, Ms Norma (Mallard) Buchanan, Ms. Lois (Lavern) (Mallard) Tucker. Ms. Mallard was the 10th of 15 children.
Ms. Mallard retired from General Motors in Flint, Michigan. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 651 and the Farley Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama.
