Archie Criswell, 75, of Finley, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his residence.
He worked for the Dyersburg Police Department for 44 years, where he retired as the Assistant Chief of Police, a member of Fraternal Order of Police, a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church and an avid squirrel hunter.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Jeremy Ballinger officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Brooks and husband, Billy Gene, of Dyersburg; a son, Jim Criswell and wife, Sandy, of Finley; a sister, Sharon Floyd of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, Billy Charles "Buddy" Criswell of Van Buren, Arkansas and Sam Criswell of Samburg, TN; five grandchildren, Ben Brooks, Jonathan Brooks, Amanda Brooks, Byron Criswell and Michelle Criswell Yarbro; and a great-grandchild, Lennon Grace Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Criswell; his parents, Charles T. and Edna Bane Criswell; and a sister, Loma Kendall.
Pallbearers will be David Criswell, Gary Criswell, Richie Tidwell, Robby Tidwell, Charles Vaughn and Larry Waller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Williamson, Greg Youree and Ted Ennis.
