Anna Mae Greer, 88, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
She was a retired beautician and former owner of Hillcrest Beauty School, a 67-year member of Fowlkes Baptist Church, where she served on the Hospitality Committee.
Services were at 1 p.m. Monday at Fowlkes Baptist Church with the Rev. Don McCulley and Rev. Ralph Buckley officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Jarvinen and husband, Peter, of Los Angeles, CA. and Ann Carson and husband, Paul "Bubba" Carson of Dyersburg; three sons, Gene Greer and wife, Kathy, of Clayton, N.C., Johnny Greer of Dyersburg and Tim Greer and wife, Vanessa, of Rochester, MN; a sister, Beatrice Penrod of Dyersburg; a brother, Eugene Gipson of Springfield, MO; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Abe" Greer; her parents, Elijah Amos and Gracie Elizabeth Gipson; three sisters, Maggie Welch, Gladys Canada and Inez Crews; two brothers, William Gipson and Johnny Gipson; and a granddaughter, Jennie Greer.
Pallbearers were Bryan "Corky" Jones, Donald Binkley, Tim Vaughn, Tim Greer, Adam Carson and Richard Sain.
