Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Bray Boston, formerly of Dyersburg, Tennessee passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 at Tullahoma, Tennessee.  She was born March 13, 1936, in Pontotoc, MS. to the late Elzy & Jewel Bray.  She was an all-star basketball player at New Albany High School and graduated in 1954. In college at Union University, Ann met the love of her life Rev. Raymond "Buddy" Boston.  She graduated from Union University in 1958 and began a career in education. While at Union, she was active in Chi Omega sorority, the Rutledge History Club and Who's Who. She was also an active member of the Dyersburg Chi Omega alumnae society.  She served on the Board of Trustees for her beloved Union University.  At First Baptist Church Dyersburg, she founded and served as the teacher for the Joy Sunday School Class for over twenty years.

She was a vital partner in ministry to her husband wherever the Lord called them to serve.

She is survived by her daughters, Marcy Ledbetter (Sid) of Tullahoma, TN and Laurie Sharp (Bob) of Helena, AL, and her beloved grandchildren, Matthew & Stephen Ledbetter and Boston & Anna Kathryn Sharp. She has a beloved great grandson, George Ledbetter. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Dr. Raymond Boston, her parents, Elzy & Jewell Bray and her brother Jack Bray of Olive Branch, MS .

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Dyersburg and beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday Oct. 18, 2021 with funeral services also at First Baptist Dyersburg beginning at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Mike Hickman, Dr. Richard Bray and Dr. Walter Jackson.  A family burial service will follow at Ecru City Cemetery in Ecru, MS.

The family request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Dyersburg or to Union University.
