Obituary

Andrew Fowlkes Abbott, 50, of Dyersburg, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at The Med in Memphis.

He worked as an emergency maintenance employee for Tenaris. He was a member of Finley Baptist Church and an avid sportsman and hunter. Andrew had an applied science degree in electronics from R.E.T.S. in Louisville, KY. He was a member of the Boy Scouts and Order of the Arrow.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his loving wife of 13 years, Gena Abbott of Dyersburg; his mother, Jennie Sue Wadley of Dyersburg; and his brother, Cayce T. Abbott and friend, Leigh Ann Burris, both of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter M. Abbott; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Fowlkes and Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Abbott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Little, John Lee, Chucky Dean, Johnny Butler, John Cloar, Mike Boals, David Quick, Mike Putman and Allen Putman.

The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
