Mrs. Amber Jade Smith, of Finley, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.  She was born September 9, 1983 to Chuck & Penny Thurmond.  Amber was a graduate of Dyersburg State Community College, studying Criminal Justice which led to her love of true crime shows and stories.  She enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball games, especially against her husband's favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.  She loved time spent with her canine companions Lil Girl and Bullet.  Her son and friends remember her for her sense of humor where they were concerned.

Amber is survived by her husband, Kenneth Smith; her son, Mason Vestal; her brother, Eric Thurmond; and sister, Angel Thurmond.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Penny Sue Moore Thurmond; and her grandparents, Holmes Franklin Moore and Carolyn Sue Moore.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Independent Free Holiness Church in Dyersburg, conducted by Bro. Calvin Smith. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
