Alvin Lynn Parker, Sr., 87, of Tiptonville, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at his residence.
He was a maintenance supervisor for Lake County Board of Education and a lifelong member of Tiptonville Church of Christ. He served two terms as a Lake County Highway Commissioner and was a farmer.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Tiptonville Church of Christ with Bro. Jeff O'Dell and Bro. Carl Mills officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Anne Marvin Parker of Tiptonville; a daughter, Lori Ann Dean and husband, Johnny, of Tiptonville; a son, Alvin Lynn Parker, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Tiptonville; five grandchildren, Ashley Morrow, Lindsey Parker, John Parker Dean, Payton Ray Dean and Mary Elizabeth Dean; and four great-grandchildren, Jay Lebo, Carson Morrow, Kabrian Dean and Ava Porter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Bonnie Russell Parker; and three brothers, Dempsey Parker, Bud Parker and Ernest Parker.
Pallbearers will be Loren Leinweber, Tommy Childress, Jaxon Neil, Rodney Marvin, Billy Farmer, David Gooch, Greg Story and Breck Beasley. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Pitts, Buddy Makin, Macie Roberson, Leonard York, Walter Hicks, Hays Cagle, Charles Wallace, Olen Parker, Danny Parker, Ricky Parker, Sammy Algee and Jeff Ogden.
