Mr. Alvin Ray Lanier, of Tiptonville, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025 at his home.  He was born September 29, 1956 to Malcolm & Carrie Work Lanier.  Alvin worked in Lake County as an electrician and plumber, helping many people.  In his free time, he loved to watch golf, baseball and FOX News.  He also enjoyed fishing, working outdoors or any time spent with his grandchildren.

Alvin is survived by his father, Malcolm Lanier, his daughter Michelle Lanier Hendel & husband, Ami, of Fort Myers FL, his companion of 36 years, Amy McKay and two step-children.  He was greatly loved as "Pappy" by his grandchildren, Elizabeth & Benjamin Stephens, six step-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Work Lanier, his brother, Terry Lanier and sister, Carrie Whitson.

Cremation services are in care of Dyersburg Funeral Home and a family memorial will be held at a later time.
