Alva "Bud" George Lovins, 84, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence.
He was a retired owner of Vandevelde Hardware Store, member of Fowlkes Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and gardener.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Ralph Buckley officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Hopper Lovins of Dyersburg; three daughters, Cathy Burns and husband, Dennis, of Covington, Jean Nolen and husband, Larry, of Dyersburg and Joan Spencer and husband, Paul, of Medina; a son, Randy Lovins and wife, Sherry, of Finley; a sister, Demetra "Mickey" Dunaway of Dyersburg; eight grandchildren, Keith Lovins, Greg Lovins, Brandon Thurmon, Michael Thurmon, Becky Fisher Jacobi, Amy Bryant, Jason Barr and Logan Burns; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Ernest and Annie B. Tramell Lovins; a grandson, Rodney Fisher; and two sisters, Wilma Weaver and Lurlene Lochetto.
Pallbearers will be Keith Lovins, Greg Lovins, Brandon Thurmon, Jason Barr, Logan Burns, Ryan Fisher and Dion Bryant.
