Alma Ruth Wyrick, 96, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Signature Healthcare of Ridgely.

She was born on December 18, 1926, in Ridgely, TN, daughter of the late Alvis and Florence Turner Gardner. Mr. Alvis passed away when Alma was 2 and her mother married Alex Leake who raised her as his own. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgely and was a homemaker. When she was able, Alma enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center in Ridgely and was a huge dog lover.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Ridgely with Bro. Matthew Gray officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at the church.

Survivors include her two sons, Byron Wyrick (Kathleen) of Ridgely, TN and Tim Wyrick (Cheryl) of Franklin, WI; a daughter, Glinda Crossnoe (Melvin) of Trenton, TN; a brother, Tony Leake (Wanda) of Ridgely, TN; two sisters, Barbara Marvin (Billy) and Brenda Crittenden, all of Ridgely, TN; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Wyrick; three brothers, Charles Leake, Kerry Leake and Coy Leake; and a sister, Grace Casteel.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wilson, Jonathon Wilson, Butch Crittenden, Jay Crittenden, Larry Everly and Jared Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Leake and Kent Patterson.
