Alma Odessa "Tootsie" Rhodes, 86, of Tiptonville, died Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Reelfoot Manor Nursing Home.
She was a retired bookkeeper for Roberson Bro. Lumber Company, Ross & Son Furniture Company and Tiptonville First Baptist Church, lifelong member of the Baptist Church and a full time mother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wynnburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Chip Davis officiating. Burial will be in Lake Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at Wynnburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Norman Rhodes and wife, Diane, of Tiptonville; a sister, Imogene Ross of Martin; two brothers, Odie Leon "Buddy" Roberson and Thomas Gardner Roberson, both of Hornbeak; two grandchildren, Jim Rhodes and wife, Michelle, and Ashleigh Matteson and husband, Mike; and five great-grandchildren, Trey Rhodes, Jennifer Matteson, Christopher Matteson, William Matteson and Hailey Rhodes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odie B. and Odessa "Dessie" Roberson; two sisters, Artie Smith and Lucille Weaver; three brothers, Ilar Roberson, Toy Roberson and Carl Roberson; and Lyman Rhodes.
Pallbearers will be David Roberson, Randy Roberson, Terry Roberson, Stephen Ross, Sherrell Armstrong, David Armstrong, Frank Gardner Roberson, Dave Roberson, Leon Roberson, Tommy Roberson, Tom Makin and Aaron Smith.
The family requests that memorials may be directed to Wynnburg Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
