Allen Edward Vernon, Jr., 64, of Friendship, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017 in Tiptonville, TN.

He was born on November 11, 1952 in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Allen Edward Vernon, Sr. and Frances Rebekah Graves Hopper. Allen was a retired employee for Ermco and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Dyersburg. He was the equipment manager for Dyersburg Middle School Football team and helped with the Royal Rangers at the church. Allen loved his family, working with his grandchildren during softball season, and riding his motorcycle. He also loved talking about Jesus.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at First Assembly of God with Mr. Allen Edward Vernon III (Trey) officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The Vernon Family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include his son, Allen Edward Vernon III (Trey) and wife, Heather, of Dyersburg; a daughter, Amber Woody and husband, Brad, of Dyersburg; his mother, Frances Rebekah Graves Hopper of Dyersburg; a sister, Carol Riggs and husband, Bo, of Dyersburg; his grandchildren, Molly Kate Woody, Lyla-Beth Woody, Wyatt Jackson Woody and the DMS Football Team; and Margo Vernon of Dyersburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Medina Community Church in memory of Eddie Vernon.
