Algie Mat Shipley's Obituary
Algie Mat Shipley, 82, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a retired employee with Dyersburg Fabrics for 47 years and a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mildred Shipley of Dyersburg; two daughters, Deborah Joan Criswell and husband, Otha "Red", and Angela Smith and husband Kenneth, all of Ripley; three sons, Kenneth Shipley of Dyersburg, Dennis Shipley and wife, Shyann, of Germantown, and Jeffery Shipley of Covington; one sister, Mary Tinkle of Dyersburg; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Minnie Crocker Shipley; one sister, Alli Mae Thurman; and four brothers, Clifton Ferguson, Paul Ferguson, V.B. Shipley and Edd Shipley.
Pallbearers will be Brian Shipley, Tyler Shipley, Blake Shipley, Jeremy Shipley, Michael Davis and Roger Thompson.
