Al Johnson, 88, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at his residence.
He was the owner of Johnson's VW Garage for 20 years and a member of Dyersburg First Assembly of God. Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Navy Pilot Veteran of WWII.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg First Assembly of God with the Rev. Steve Winegardner officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris Johnson of Dyersburg; a daughter, Dorthea Johnson McBride and husband, Jeff, of Dyersburg; a sister, Hazel Dyer of Normal, IL; three grandchildren, Greg Sykes and wife, Shelly, Heath Hinson and Lauren McBride, all of Dyersburg; and four great-grandchildren, Trevor Glass, Will Glass, Luke Glass and Parker Sykes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Lillie Key Johnson; a sister, Zazle Washam; and two brothers, Lemuel Johnson and Landel Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Greg Sykes, Heath Hinson, David Washam, Todd Sieber, Robbie Scott and Scott Hollingsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Hutcheson and Paul Washam.
