Adelina Salinas, 85, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Adelina was born on January 26, 1936, in Ormoc City Leyte, Philippines, to the late, Ramon and Felisa Gonzales Laude. She was a retired school principal for Valencia Central School in Ormoc City, and was a highly respected educator, who was stern but compassionate, tough but supportive, and has always achieved her goals, consistently receiving awards for herself and the school.

She was a loyal friend always ready to lend an ear and a hand. She was the prayer warrior who prays for everyone else.

She was a very devout Catholic, volunteering in church in her hometown who achieved her dream of visiting Rome and the Vatican accompanied by her extended family her in Dyersburg. She was also a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Patrick Hirtz officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 and from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Survivors include her son, Arnulfo Salinas, Jr. and wife, Jovelyn, of Philippines; three daughters, Ramafel Crisostomo and husband, Edwin, of Chicago, IL, Addie Serquina and husband, Caesar, of Dyersburg, TN and Evangeline Tampus and husband, Felix, of Philippines; nine grandchildren, Sophia, Sean, Adrian, Clara, Arndrei, Johanna, Allen, Loue and Lester; and one great-grandchild, C.J.

She was a devoted mother who was always present though physically far, always listened but never complained; the cool grandma who was caring, liked to snuggle, and who doted on and worried about her grandkids. She was a source of strength and prayer for her family and all her children, the best mother-in-law and a well-loved mother to ALL.

In addition to her parents, Adelina was preceded in death by her husband, Arnulfo Salinas, Sr.
